Preparing future solar installers to lead the charge
and meet the growing workforce demand of renewable energy in Texas.
MISSION
Solar Austin’s mission is to accelerate the transition to clean, renewable energy in Central Texas and to expand access to the benefits of solar to everyone to mitigate climate change, create a healthy community, and support a strong local economy.
As a part of this work, we are thrilled to partner with a number of community partners to launch a Solar Installation Training Program at the Del Valle Opportunity Center.
OBJECTIVES
The main objective with this solar installation training program is to build pathways and accelerate learning for solar jobs at high schools.
We are working to tackle the industry’s diversity challenge head-on by launching a partnership with Del Valle ISD, NATiVE Solar, Digital Workforce Academy, and community partners to begin a solar installation training to diversify and bolster the workforce.
